Problem: Ever tried to treat some servers in your local IP Subnet exceptional in “non-transparent” Mode? OK, the solution for this is the function “real servers are local” BUT what to do if your Exchange Server Roles are separated and you need your Mailbox-Servers to work in non-transparent modus?
Solution: In your Kemp Configuration take your Mailbox-Servers into the VS (Virtual Service) and disable them. This will tell Kemp: Hey, I know them and I have to treat them as non-transparent.

This is a result because Exchange did not recognized that a disconnected mailbox already has been reconnected to a AD User. This seems to be a bug in Exchange 2010 SP2 RU1 and should be fixed in RU3 .

So, finally we get rid of an bug introduced in Rollup 3 for Service Pack 2
Following (cosmetic) error in event-Log showed up on each Client Access Server with Event-ID 1 –> “Unhandled Exception “User setting ‘PreferredSite’ is not available.”

Just realized in Exchange 2013 – In powershell you can use tab without loosing the rest of cursors right side :-) for me as a busy consultant that is a major feature :-)
